Day01

Overnight Stay at Jetwing Vil Uyana

You will be met and assisted on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Sri Lanka, by Aitken Spence Travels Representative and introduced to your English speaking chauffeur guide.

Transfer from Airport to Sigiriya (approx 4 hours)

In Sigiriya, you will check-in at Jetwing Vil Uyana and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Transfer from Jetwing Vil Uyana to Sigiriya rock Fortress (approx 10 minutes)

Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a World Heritage Site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The "Lion Rock" is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare .fortified town. A moat, rampart and extensive gardens, including the renowned water gardens, ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens" of Sigiriya, which are in a -sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes ~re painted in earth pigments on plaster.

Transfer from Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa (approx 1 hour and 30 minutes)

The island’s medieval capital (built in the 11th and 12th century AD) rose to fame after the decline of Anuradhapura. It is a World Heritage Site. Many of the ruins are in an excellent condition. Its great artificial lake, the Parakrama Samudra, which covers an area of 6,000 acres, feeds a network of irrigation canals and minor reservoirs. Visit the ruins of the Royal Place the Gal Viharaya, which has four splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Uprihgt’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Barth and the statue of King Parakramabahu. There are also monuments of famous place of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilaka, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of famor Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day03

Overnight Stay at The Kandy House

Breakfirst at Jetwing Vil Uyana.Transfer from Sigiriya to Dambulla (approx 30 minutes)

The Dambulla rock temple was by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves, with over 2000 square metres of pointed walls and ceilings, is the largest area of painting found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha, of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres.

Transfer from Dambulla to Matale (approx 1 hour and 30 minutes)

Visit a spice garden in matale to see some the many different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. You will be introduced to a variety of spices and shown how some of these are grown and processed.

Transfer from Dambulla to Kandy (approx 2 hours)
In Kandy, you will check-in at The Kandy House and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Transfer from The Kandy House to Peradeniya (approx 45 minutes)
Visit Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya

This beautiful garden is located 4 miles from Kandy. It was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It covers approximately 147 acres and is a walker's paradise with extensive well kept lawns, pavilions, an octagon conservatory, fernery, a giant Javan fig tree and numerous flower beds. The most visited attraction is the orchid house.

Transfer from Peradeniya to Kandy City (approx 20 minutes)

Do a City tour of Kandy

Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name 'Kandy' conjures visions of splendour and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive aroundthe Kandy lake, built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, in 1798. Visit Kandy town, the bazaar, an arts and crafts centre and a gem museu /Iapidary. Also visit the Temple of the . Tooth Relic and, afterwards, witness a cultural show.

Day05

Transfer from The Kandy House to Pinnawala (approx 1 hour and 30 minutes)

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. The orphanage was established in 1975 and commenced with seven orphaned elephants. Today some of these orphans have been fortunate enough to see their grandchildren born in the same location. Assisted by local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala commenced a successful captive breeding programme and the first baby elephant was born in 1984. The best time to visit is at feeding time, when you can see the-baby elephants being bottle fed and, .afterewards, the entire herd is taken to bathe at the nearby the river.

Transfer from Pinnawala to Kotugoda (approx 3 hours)

In Kotugoda, you will check-in at The Wallawwa and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
